Maitake (Grifola frondosa) generates a spectacular, high-quality fruit body and is well-known in the gourmet world. Dense, meaty taste and medicinal attributes are a few of this mushroom's great properties. Mushroom bodies may last up to 10 days after harvest in the fridge.
Maitake grain spawn can be used for indoor production using sawdust.
Do not use grain spawn for log inoculation.
Indoor cultivation :
Maitake mushroom grain spawn can be mixed into sterilized hardwood sawdust to create Maitake substrate blocks.
Note: Grain spawn must be mixed with bulk substrate before you can fruit it. If you are new to growing mushrooms, we recommend purchasing a book on mushroom cultivation.

Storing :
If you don't plan to use immediately, you can refrigerate your spawn for up to 2 months.
Cooking :
Maitake has a meaty texture when cooked and is good for drying and reconstituting in winter soups. It pairs beautifully with tamari, ginger, and garlic and can bring needed umami to many different dishes. These mushrooms are delicious sauteed and can be used in stir-fries, risottos, ramens, on pizzas, or simply eaten by themselves.

Cautions & considerations :
If you’re going to consume home-grown mushrooms, make sure to cook your fresh mushrooms thoroughly with heat. If it is your first time eating this species, it is best to start with a small amount.You may return most new, unopened items within 3 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
